Lose Control (Again)

Long before Substack — even before Medium — I had comms blog called Lost Control that operated under the premise that the comms world was under great disruption and the idea of command and control PR was soon to be an anachronism. It also meant that anyone expecting or trying to buy it would eventually be disappointed.

Far from a bad thing, this would mean so much more creative freedom to be way more interesting and dynamic in our jobs. And our role as a strategic input versus merely a tactical output would would accelerate.

While there are still plenty of those out there you think you can still “control the narrative”, we’ve firmly entered a post-control era. I’ll explore that and other comms perspectives here when not doing my Mixing Board bit.
